  Desde el primer momento la CFRivero (Colección Fernández Rivero) tuvo entre sus objetivosla formación de una colección de fotografía histórica que sirviera para la comprensión dela realidad del fenómeno fotográfico (especialmente en España) en su conjunto. Desde estepunto de vista estuvo claro que la fotografía familiar debía tener su espacio en la colección,dentro de su delimitación temporal, que en nuestro caso está comprendida entre los inicios dela fotografía, en la década de 1840 hasta las primeras décadas del siglo XX. Nuestro objetivoen este artículo será explicar cuáles han sido los criterios seguidos para la incorporaciónde este tipo de fotografías en la colección y también mostrar numerosos ejemplos tanto depiezas individuales como de conjuntos que respondan a esta clasificación que en principiohemos denominado “fotografía familiar”.

  From the first moment the CFRivero (Fernández Rivero Collection) had among its objectivesthe formation of a collection of historical photography that would serve to understand thereality of the photographic phenomenon (especially in Spain) as a whole. From this point ofview, it was clear that family photography should have its space in the collection, within itstemporal delimitation, which in our case is comprised between the beginnings of photography,in the 1840s until the first decades of the 20th century. Our objective in this article will be toexplain what have been the criteria followed for the incorporation of this type of photographsin the collection and also show numerous examples of both individual pieces and sets thatrespond to this classification that in principle we have called "family photography"
