El objetivo de este artículo es reflexionar sobre la enfermedad renal en la infancia, una problemática de salud grave con consecuencias a largo plazo para el bienestar y la calidad de vida, comprometiendo el futuro de los niños. Atendiendo a lo anterior, se analizan los mecanismos subyacentes de la enfermedad, subrayando el impacto de factores genéticos, ambientales y de estilo de vida, destacando la correlación significativa que existe entre la salud renal infantil y la calidad ambiental, subrayando, la importancia de la enfermedad renal como indicador de bienestar social y ambiental. Este texto hace especial énfasis en la necesidad de implementar estrategias preventivas efectivas, incluyendo la mejora de la calidad del agua, una nutrición adecuada y el acceso a atención médica temprana y equitativa. Además, se discute la urgencia de aumentar la conciencia y fomentar la acción colectiva por parte de gobiernos, instituciones de salud y comunidades. Este análisis concluye que un enfoque multifacético que combine mejoras en la atención de salud, en las políticas públicas enfocadas en la salud ambiental y en la educación comunitaria, reforzando la importancia de la acción colectiva y la intervención preventiva en la lucha contra la enfermedad renal infantil, lo que resulta esencial para enfrentar esta enfermedad y asegurar un entorno saludable para el crecimiento de los niños.

The objective of this article is to reflect on kidney disease in childhood, a serious health problem with long-term consequences for well-being and quality of life, compromising the future of children. Taking into account the above, the underlying mechanisms of the disease are analyzed, highlighting the impact of genetic, environmental and lifestyle factors, highlighting the significant correlation that exists between childhood kidney health and environmental quality, highlighting the importance of Kidney disease as an indicator of social and environmental well-being. This text places special emphasis on the need to implement effective preventive strategies, including improving water quality, adequate nutrition, and access to early and equitable medical care. Additionally, the urgency of increasing awareness and encouraging collective action by governments, health institutions and communities is discussed. This analysis concludes that a multifaceted approach that combines improvements in health care, public policies focused on environmental health and community education, reinforcing the importance of collective action and preventive intervention in the fight against childhood kidney disease, which is essential to confront this disease and ensure a healthy environment for the growth of children.
