  Using the concept of everyday life as reference, the article examines the dynamics of creation and production of the film Arabian Nights (2015), from the Portuguese director Miguel Gomes, trying to understand how a particular socio-historical context has become a structural element in the process of creating a fictional narrative, and how the real and the imaginary are articulated in contemporary audiovisual works.

  Amparando-se no conceito de cotidiano, o artigo examina as dinâmicas de criação e produção do filme As mil e uma noites (2015), do diretor português Miguel Gomes, buscando compreender como um determinado contexto sócio-histórico se tornou um elemento estruturante no processo de criação de uma narrativa ficcional, e como o real e o imaginário se articulam em obras audiovisuais contemporâneas.
