    As the years progress, the use of the hitano decreases, and this tendency continues down the same path. Based on this concern, in a small town in the center of Gipuzkoa, the aim of this work is to know what are the characteristics of the beginnings of hitano in children, and how the gender and said people around them influence it. To this end, with the assistance of members of a small school, information has been collected through observations, interviews and questionnaires. With the collected information, it has been observed that the traditional characteristics of the hitano are maintained, since the use continues to be associated primarily with the male gender, and used more within boys the hitano, whereas girls rarely use it.

    Urteek aurrera egin ahala hitanoa gero eta gutxiago erabiltzen da eta aurrerantzean ere bide beretik jarraitzeko joera erakusten du. Kezka horretatik abiatuta, Gipuzkoa erdigunean kokaturiko herri txiki bat oinarri hartuz, lan honen helburua da ezagutzea zein diren haurretan hitanoaren hastapenaren ezaugarriak eta horretan zer eragin duten generoak eta haurren inguruko pertsona erreferenteek. Horretarako, eskola txiki bateko kideen laguntzarekin, behaketa, elkarrizketa nahiz galdetegien bidez informazioa jaso da. Bildutakoarekin, hitanoaren ezaugarri tradizionalak mantentzen direla ikusi da, tratamendu hori batez ere genero maskulinoarekin lotzen jarraitzen baita, haurren artean mutiletan hitanoa asko entzuten den bitartean nesketan ia ez baita entzuten.
