    This article sets out to present Nicholas Wolterstorff and his interactions with other contemporary philosopher, both Anglo-American and Francophone, particularly with regard to the current state of the debate on the place of religion in the public square of liberal democracies. It seems to us that this context is fundamental to understanding Wolterstorff’s relevance to English-language moral and political philosophy in recent decades, and the contribution he can make from his Protestant intellectual tradition.

    Cet article s’attache à présenter Nicholas Wolterstorff et ses interactions avec d’autres philosophes contemporains, tant du monde anglo-américain que francophone, notamment en ce qui concerne l’état actuel du débat sur la place de la religion dans l’espace public des démocraties libérales. Il nous semble que ce contexte est fondamental pour comprendre la pertinence de Wolterstorff dans la philosophie morale et politique de langue anglaise au cours des dernières décennies ainsi que la contribution qu’il peut apporter à partir de sa tradition intellectuelle protestante.
