Resumen de Felipe III y la América portuguesa: la creación del Conselho da Índia (1604-1614)

El siguiente trabajo busca poner en valor la creación del Conselho da India (1604-1614) por parte de Felipe III, institución de la que se valió para gobernar los territorios ultramarinos portugueses. A través del estudio de sus regimentos, analizaremos cual fue su manera de funcionar, sus atributos, prerrogativas y los problemas a los que se enfrentó desde su creación. De la misma manera, indagaremos sobre la trascendencia que este nuevo Consejo tuvo sobre la América portuguesa en lo ocurrido durante los 10 años que estuvo en funcionamiento.

The following work aims to highlight the creation of the Conselho da Índia (1604-1614) by Philip III, an institution he used to govern the portuguese overseas territories. Through the study of its regimentos, we will analyse how it functioned, its attributes, prerogatives and the problems it faced since its creation. In the same way, we will investigate the transcendence that this new Council had on Portuguese America during the 10 years that it was in operation.
