    En esta investigación nos hemos centrado en el análisis de la evolución de la cartografía de Puerto Real desde principios del siglo XVI hasta finales del XVIII. Este estudio se ha realizado a distintas escalas territoriales, siguiendo un recorrido que va desde los mapas generales, la cartografía subregional, las cartas náuticas que comprenden las costas de Huelva y Cádiz, y posteriormente, la cartografía detallada de la bahía de Cádiz, destacando su importancia estratégica y geográfica. Finalmente, hemos examinado el núcleo urbano de Puerto Real, capturando así tanto su persistencia como su transformación a lo largo del tiempo.

    In this research we have focused on the analysis of the evolution of the cartography of Puerto Real from the beginning of the 16th century to the end of the 18th century. This study has been carried out at different territorial scales, following a route that goes from the general maps, the subregional cartography, the nautical charts that include the coasts of Huelva and Cádiz, and subsequently, the detailed cartography of the bay of Cádiz, highlighting its strategic and geographical importance. Finally, we have examined the urban core of Puerto Real, capturing both its persistence and its transformation over time.
