    Nazioa egitura sozial eta dinamikoa bezala aztertzen dugu. Hau dela eta bere aterkipean barnebiltzen duen komunitate irudikatuko kideen diskurtsoen arabera moldatzen dira nazioaren inguruko diskurtsoen elementuak. Ondorioz, aterkiak behartzen du komunitatea diskurtsoak marko baten baitan irudikatzen. Komunitateak, ordea, testuinguru soziologikoaren arabera egituratuko ditu bere nazioaren diskurtsoko elementu propio eta subjektiboak. Lurraldea berriz nazioaren eragin gunetzat hartzen dugu. Mundu fisikoa asmatutako mugen bitartez banatzean, muga hauek, barrukoak kanpokoen aurrean nortasun ezberdinak egituratzera daramatza. Lurraldea, Euskal Herriko kasuan behintzat, eremu soziologiko ezberdinez josia dagoelako, tokian tokiko diskurtsoek beraien esparruko bereizitasunak izango dute. Azkenik, ekologismoak, bere proiektu ezberdinak aintzat hartuta, komunitateari eredu aldaketarako aukera ematen dio. Mundua kolapsotik babesteko, gizakia naturaren baitan kokatu eta bi hauek elkarrekiko menpekotasunean bizi diren ekosistema bezala ulertzen du. Ondorioz, xxi. mendeko beldurrak eta esperantzak aintzat izanda, ekologismoa abertzale bilakatzeko beste bide izan daitekeela uste dugu.

    We examine the nation as a social and dynamic structure. Therefore, the elements of the discourses that surround the nation are developed based on the discourses of the members of the imagined community that integrates it under its umbrella. Consequently, the umbrella forces the community to represent discourses within a concrete framework. The community, however, will structure the own and subjective elements of its nation’s discourse based on the sociological context. We consider the territory as the nation’s own space for action. By dividing the physical world through invented boundaries, these boundaries lead the «insiders» to structure different identities compared to the «outsiders». The territory, at least in the case of Euskal Herria, due to its sociological diversity, develops different discourses depending on its context and situation. Finally, environmentalism, taking into account its different variants, allows the community a change of model. To protect the world from collapse, it conceives the human being as an ecosystem that is located within nature and in which both live in interdependence. Consequently, taking into account the fears and hopes of the 21st century, we believe that environmentalism can become a means to become, today, nationalist.
