"Santa Fe, cuán bien pareces": un romance fronterizo de tradición impresa y manuscrita

    Destaca entre las primicias que aportan al acervo roman-cístico las Silvas de Esteban de Nájera (Zaragoza, 1550) un romance fronterizo sobre las hazañas del Maestre de Calatrava, quien derrota a Albayaldos, moro de allende la mar, que sale a desafiarlo por cuenta del rey de Granada. La colección de Nájera resulta ser el único testimonio impreso del romance; el otro es el manuscrito de la Biblioteca Nacio-nal (signatura Ms. 1317). A estas dos versiones, debe sumarse también otra, transmitida en la Rosa española de Joan Timoneda (Valencia, Joan Navarro, 1573). Tras un cotejo entre los tres testimonios, el objetivo del trabajo es establecer las posibles relaciones entre ellos y profundizar en aspectos estilísticos, temáticos e históricos del romance.

    The Silvas of Esteban de Nájera (Zaragoza, 1550), a frontier romance about the exploits of the Master of Calatrava, who defeats Albayaldos, a Moor from across the sea who goes out to challenge him on behalf of the King of Granada, stands out among the first works that add to the collection of romance. The Nájera collection is the only printed record of the romance; the other is the manuscript in the Biblioteca Nacional (Biblioteca Nacional) (call number Ms. 1317). To these two versions must be added another, transmitted in the Rosa española by Joan Timoneda (Valencia, Joan Navarro, 1573). After a comparison between the three testimonies, the aim of this work is to establish the possible relationships between them and to examine stylistic, thematic and to offer more details on historical aspects of the romance.
