Resumen de Uma Ponte Menos Longe: adaptação cinematográfica de literatura pela lente dos estudos de tradução

Paulo Furtado

  • Crossing the bridge from literary text to film was always a laborious task, at the heart of a rather judgementaldebate. For many years, it was controlled by the issues of fidelity, placing the original literary text way above its filmadaptation. This was considered a product of inferior quality than the original. Over time, though, the debate hasmoved from fidelity to intertextuality, giving the film adaptation a more creative and artistic character, with a mindand a soul of its own. Adaptation becomes an interpretation. And this is where translation studies help cross thatcommunicative bridge.
