Resumen de Cine Com Ciência: uma experiência dialógica sobre a produção de um filme em uma escola pública em Brasília

Erizaldo Cavalcanti Borges Pimentel, Laura Maria Coutinho

  • The use of movies has been well spread in Brazilian schools. In particular the act of making movies is, today, aninstrument that, well used, can motivate students to have an epistemological view about several areas of knowledge, including the subjects studied by them in school. In this paper, we present a medium length movie (40 minutes)called “100% Completamente Bem-resolvida” (100% totally well-resolved), produced on a workshop called CINECOM CIÊNCIA, which took place from October to December 2011. It’s a fiction movie, and the production were doneby 15 teachers and 100 students from a public high school in Brasília, Brazil’s capital city. A list of topics that thesubjects studied in classroom in some of the schools was an additional challenge. This project is part of our doctoralthesis at the University of Brasília and refers to the concepts of two well-known researchers in Brasil. The first isPaulo Freire, who wrote the “Theory of Dialogical Action”, which states that teachers should create a critical learningenvironment and promote conditions for dialogues that encourage student’s curiosity. The second is Joan Ferrés,who is responsible for a methodology defined as “Video Process” used by teachers and students in the movies’production. The search results show how this production motivated students to discuss about areas of knowledgelearned in classroom, besides other subjects included in the audiovisual language.
