Historical and ideological analysis of the events in Mount Lebanon from 1908, the proclamation of the Ottoman Constitution, to 1926, the announcement of the Constitution of the Lebanese Republic, through two leading publishers of the American mah?ar: the Arab nationalist newspaper Meraat-ul-Gharb (1899) and the daily al-Hoda (1898), which advocated a geographical, sovereign and independent political entity for Lebanon under French protection.
