Resumen de As Brumas da Memória: a temática do esquecimento no cinema de Alain Resnais

  • This text proposes to understand the way some European, post-war cinemas dealt with the emergent topic of thememory – both individual and collective. After an introduction concerning some of the most relevant European,post-war intellectual and artistic occurrences, and a brief meditation on the characteristics of documental images,we shall focus our attention on the cinema of Alain Resnais – namely through the examples of Nuit et Bruillard andHiroshima, Mon Amour - and the way this director conjugated both cinematic and documental resources in order tocreate his very own aesthetic approach to the topic of human memory.
