Between 1919 and 1933, Germany experienced one of the periods most intense, rich and varied culture in general,and the cinema in particular of his country; a period which contrasted a profound post-war crisis and recovery duringthe period of the Weimar Republic; in the cinematic look, the expectations of a new democratic period, under thethreat of the totalitarianism, didn’t dent in its outcome; a generation of entrepreneurs, directors, producers andartists who made reality to the German film as one of the related world of his time; a film propaganda, symbolic,multiform and that in any case he was at the back of what happened in the life of the country, being one of thenew mass media favorite for a period in which the so-called popular culture was consolidated. Here highlight somesignificant moments in the history of the German film of this period; the consolidation of the UFA, artistic andbusiness exchanges with Hollywood, the young industry American, and finally, the assumption of the German filmstructure by nazi power, putting it to his propaganda service and generating a massive departure from men andwomen from Germany to United States.
