Con motivo de la restauración en 2016 de la obra San Jacinto de Polonia ante la Virgen del Pilar, atribuida al pintor zaragozano Jusepe Martínez (1600–1682), se realizó el correspondiente estudio histórico–artístico que es el origen del presente artículo. En el mismo, además de demostrar la autoría a través de una inscripción practicada en la obra, se analizan sus estilemas, contextualizándola en la producción artística del pintor aragonés y poniendo de relieve su relación con el arte italiano, entre otros pormenores sobre su comitente y el significado religioso de esta interesante pintura conservada en la catedral del Salvador de Zaragoza.

On the occasion of the restoration in 2016 of the work San Jacinto de Polonia ante la Virgen del Pilar, attributed to the Zaragozan painter Jusepe Martínez (1600–1682), the corresponding historical–artistic study was carried out, which is the origin of the present article. In it, besides demonstrating the authorship through an inscription on the work, its styles are analyzed, contextualizing it in the artistic production of the Aragonese painter and highlighting its relationship with Italian art, among other details about its commissioner and the religious significance of this interesting painting preserved in the Cathedral of the Salvador of Zaragoza.
