• This paper proposes a preliminary investigation into the possible relationship between the Alexandr Sokurov movie“Russian Arc” (2002) and the Waltércio Caldas artist-book O livro Velazquez (1996). We assume here that both workof art deal with the idea of museum and the place of art in contemporary art. Each of them on a singular way play itsrole on the idea of a suspended time and the pregnance of Europe in art.
