Infoxicación, sin estar aceptada por la Real Academia Española, da una de las claves contemporáneas. Es necesario saber y poder distinguir entre el exceso de información, avalanchas de noticias y acontecimientos. Conocer las fuentes adecuadas y poder acceder a ellas. Saber que, en el mundo de imágenes en el que vivimos, estas son muy manipulables, y cada vez más. Pero esto no es propio solamente del momento actual, es anterior a la imagen distorsionada que devolvían los espejos del callejón del Gato, en Luces de Bohemia, o al incendio en el Museo del Prado que publicóMariano de Cavia en El Liberal en noviembre de 1891. Un bulo inventado por el periodista para llamar la atención sobre el deterioro del museo. Repasamos noticias, acontecimientos, libros, artistas, películas, imágenes, políticos… que han generado contenido falso, por equivocación o con intención de vulnerar o jugar con la percepción de quien recibe esa información.

The term «Infoxication», not accepted by the Royal Spanish Academy, provides one of the contemporary keys. It is necessary to know and distinguish through excess information, avalanches of news and events. Know the reliable sources and be able to access them. Understanding that in the image-centric world we live in, they are highly susceptible to manipulation, and more so every day. But this isn’t limited to the present; it traces back to the distorted reflections in the Alley Cat (Callejón del Gato) mirrors in Luces de Bohemia, or the Prado Museum fire published by Mariano de Cavia in El Liberal in November 1891. A hoax invented by the journalist to draw attention to the deterioration of the museum. We review news, events, books, artists, movies, images, politicians… that have generated false content, by mistake or with the intention of violating or playing with the perception of whoever receives that information.
