On all the views of faith, saving faith, the faith which is required for the practice of the Christian religion involves both having a good purpose and having certain beliefs, but on diferent views of faith diferent kinds of belief are needed. In this paper I shall investigate with respect to religions generally, and in particular with respect to the Christian religion, the purpose of following a religion.
