    Los documentos del Registro Nacional de Extranjeros (RNE) de México, resguardados por el Archivo General de la Nación (AGN) han sido hasta el momento poco explorados. Este trabajo se propuso analizar los registros de personas colombianas en el RNE, caracterizar y periodizar esta población, y leer las fluctuaciones de ese flujo migratorio a la luz de la legislación mexicana en la materia. Al ser este un grupo pequeño, y manejable para su estudio, se facilitó la implementación de una propuesta metodológica de análisis de información de este tipo. Dicho análisis permitió establecer cierta relación entre el surgimiento de la necesidad del registro de extranjeros, a mediados de la década de 1920, y el proceso de institucionalización de la gestión de las fronteras y la extranjería en México durante la primera mitad del siglo XX.

    The documents of the National Registry of Foreigners (RNE, by its acronym in Spanish) of Mexico, protected by the General Archive of the Nation (AGN) have been little explored so far. This work proposed to analyze the records of Colombian people in the RNE, characterize and periodize this population, and read the fluctuations of this migratory flow in light of Mexican legislation on the matter. As this is a small and manageable group for its study, the implementation of a methodological proposal for information analysis of this type was facilitated. This analysis made it possible to establish a certain relationship between the emergence of the need to register foreigners, in the mid-1920s, and the institutionalization process of border management and immigration in Mexico during the first half of the 20th century.
