Prácticas institucionales educativas para la pervivencia de la lengua y la cultura del hablante Damana de la nación Wiwa de la Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta

    Este artículo examina las prácticas educativas escolares para la preservación de la lengua y cultura Damana de la nación Wiwa en la Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, Colombia. Frente a amenazas a su integridad cultural y lingüística por desplazamiento forzado, evangelización, conflictos armados y asimilación occidental, las instituciones educativas de la comunidad Wiwa muestran efectos mixtos en la protección y reinvidicación de su idioma y tradiciones. El estudioescudriña el papel de las instituciones educativas en la existencia y preservación de la identidad lingüística y cultural Wiwa. La investigación, realizada dentro del Doctorado en Educación, Interculturalidad y Territorio de la Universidad del Magdalena, adopta un enfoque emergente, basado en un recorrido exploratorio y descriptivo. Mediante la investigación documental y la revisión narrativa de cincuenta referencias bibliográficas, organizadas, categorizadas y analizadas con el software Atlas.Ti. Las secciones iniciales revisan once proyectos de investigación estrechamente alineados con las categorías de estudio, sujetos y geografía, centrándose en la persistencia cultural y lingüística Damana de los Wiwa. El análisis subsiguiente propone una categorización simple de las prácticas identificadas. La investigación tiene como objetivo describir y categorizar las prácticas escolares tanto positivas como negativas que afectan la cultura Wiwa y la lengua Damana.Haciendo esto, busca informar a los centros educativos sobre cómo fomentar el patrimonio cultural de los Wiwa frente a las crecientes presiones sobre su identidad lingüística.

    This article examines the institutional practices vital for the preservation of the Damana language and culture of the Wiwa nation in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, Colombia. Facing cultural and linguistic integrity threats from forced displacement, evangelization, armed conflict, and Western assimilation, the Wiwa community's educational institutions display a mix of effects on the safeguarding of their language and traditions. The study scrutinizes the role of educational institutions in promoting and preserving Wiwa's linguistic and cultural identity. The research, conducted within the Doctorate in Education, Interculturality, and Territory at the Universidad del Magdalena, adopts an exploratory and descriptive qualitative approach. Through documental research and narrative review of fifty bibliographic references, organized and analyzed using Atlas.Ti software.Initial sections review eleven research projects closely aligned with the study's categories, subjects, and geography, focusing on the Wiwa's cultural and Damana linguistic persistence. The subsequent analysis proposes a simple categorization of the identified practices. The research aims to describe and categorize both positive and negative institutional practices affecting the Wiwa culture and Damana language. By doing so, it seeks to inform educational centers on fostering the Wiwa's cultural heritage against increasing pressures on their linguistic identity
