Resumen de Redes personales y de poder en los paratextos de las Crónicas Gallegas entre 1550 y 1615: Algunas reflexiones

En este artículo se analizarán los paratextos de las tres primeras crónicas gallegas impresas dentro y fuera del territorio gallego, entre mediados del quinientos y las primeras décadas del seiscientos. Los preliminares legales —aprobaciones y licencias— y los preliminares autoriales —dedicatorias y prólogos— influyeron de forma decisiva en la lectura e interpretación de los escritos. En cuanto a los primeros, la normativa regia se mostró tajante ante la necesidad de controlar ideológicamente los textos que salían de la imprenta, pero, como se podrá comprobar, no siempre se ajustaban a la legalidad. Por su parte, las dedicatorias y los prólogos al lector, redactados por los autores, dejaban entrever la finalidad de los cronistas para terminar sus obras, siendo la promoción social su principal aspiración. Así pues, la finalidad de este trabajo se centrará en examinar los lazos personales desarrollados entre los cronistas y sus comitentes y, a su vez, entre estos últimos y los funcionarios del Consejo de Castilla, el poder eclesiástico o la Corona. Probablemente, como se intentará demostrar, estas redes de poder facilitaron la publicación de las obras y la movilidad ascendente de los cronistas.

This article will analyze the paratexts of the first three Galician chronicles printed inside and outside the Galician territory, between the middle of the fifteenth century and the first decades of the sixteenth century. The legal preliminaries -approvals and licenses- and the authorial preliminaries -dedications and prologues- had a decisive influence on the reading and interpretation of the writings. As for the former, the royal regulations were strict in the face of the need to control ideologically the texts that came out of the printing press, but, as will be seen, they did not always conform to legality. For their part, the dedications and prologues to the reader, written by the authors, gave a glimpse of the purpose of the chroniclers in completing their works, their main aspiration being social promotion. Thus, the purpose of this paper will focus on examining the personal ties developed between the chroniclers and their patrons and, in turn, between the latter and the officials of the Council of Castile, the ecclesiastical power or the Crown. Probably, as we will try to demonstrate, these power networks facilitated the publication of the works and the upward mobility of the chroniclers.
