This article aims to deepen the understanding of human dignity from the perspective of seven authors who specialize in the subject. This purpose requires us to inquire about the way of approaching the concept of human dignity; the foundations on which they support their notion; the role they assign to human dignity; and the prevalent values in their thoughts. Bringing together in the same article the approach of the different authors on the issue facilitates an exercise of contrast, aimed at finding points of convergence and discrepancies, in order to discern whether there is any specific element that transcends all the theories displayed.
