The objective is to make a theoretical reflection on the (post) modernity theme by relating it to three elements that we consider essential to deal with in the Human Sciences and, consequently, inthe field of geographic science. It was based on the opinion of four authors and it was realized that the space category is being misunderstood by non-geographers thinkers and that they agree, even indirectly that space is less valued than time. There is a progressive spatial fragmentation, since people tend to close in increasingly isolated and watched environments. And, this, for some would be motivated by a postmodern society. However, what would have existed in this bulge would be the restructuring of capitalist society, from which the movements like those of the overcoming of modernity are desired and financed. However, as geographic space is the product of human and natural actions that result in new realities. Thus, it is concluded that in the epistemological context of modernity versus postmodernity, Geography plays its role both in the adaptation to historical periods and in the re-signification of this dichotomy.
