In the first section of the article, we deal with the relationship that Karl Korsch maintained with the Institute for Social Research and its most representative figures, from its first years of operation in Frankfurt to exile in the United States (1). In the second part, a contrast is carried out between what Korsch and the first Critical Theory understood by 'realization of philosophy' (2). An annex structured around three additional themes is added: the reception of positivism in Korsch's work (a), its link with Leninism (b) and his criticism of the ‘theory of collapse ’(Zusammenbruchstheorie) (c).
