Investigación social crítica y normatividad (Chile, 2000-2022)

    Resumen: El artículo estudia la forma en que se incorpora la normatividad en la construcción investigativa que llevan a cabo investigadores de perspectiva crítica en Chile y qué derivaciones tiene esto. Se basa en el análisis cualitativo y cuantitativo de 167 obras publicadas entre 2000 y 2022, y en entrevistas realizadas a 55 de sus autores. La normatividad, como era esperable, tiene un lugar destacado en estas investigaciones y no sólo en la selección del problema, conclusiones y recomendaciones, sino que en la investigación misma, de manera destacada en la construcción conceptual teórica del objeto. La forma en que ocurre esta intervención de la normatividad y los efectos que se derivan sobre la configuración de la facticidad, de hechos sociales y sujetos colectivos, aparecen poco explicitados y escasamente tematizados y reflexionados. Las derivaciones que se registra son tanto concordantes con los fines de transformación buscados como moldeadores y eventualmente distorsionantes de la realidad estudiada. Entre estas últimas se constatan efectos de amplificación o sobrevaloración de hechos o actores, polarización y rigidización de la realidad, y configuración de hechos sobre la base de delimitaciones normativas. Asimismo, aparece usada la fuerza dramática del relato como procedimiento de evaluación normativa que opera tácitamente. Al no ser abordados estos aspectos, la normatividad queda como punto ciego de la investigación crítica que se parece al de la ciencia positivista que se cuestiona.

    Abstract: The article studies the way in which normativity is incorporated in the investigative construction carried out by researchers with a critical perspective in Chile and what consequences this has. It is based on the qualitative and quantitative analysis of 167 works published between 2000 and 2022, and on interviews conducted with 55 of their authors. Normativity, as expected, has a prominent place in these investigations and not only in the selection of the problem, conclusions, and recommendations, but in the investigation itself, notably in the theoretical conceptual construction of the object. How this intervention of normativity occurs and the effects that are derived on the configuration of facticity, of social facts and collective subjects, appear little explained and scarcely thematized and reflected upon. The derivations recorded are both consistent with the intended transformation purposes and shaping and eventually distorting the reality studied. Among the latter, there are effects of amplification or overvaluation of facts or actors, polarization and rigidization of reality, and configuration of facts based on normative delimitations. Likewise, the dramatic force of the story appears being used as a normative evaluation procedure that operates tacitly. By not addressing these aspects, normativity remains a blind spot of critical research that resembles that of the positivist science that is questioned.
