The main objective of this work is the characterization of the seismic activity linked to the Pinar Fault in the region of Western Cuba, through the use of mathematical methods that allow characterizing and/or quantifying the space-time relationship in said seismic series. Along with this analysis, an interpretation and correlation of the results obtained with those derived from previous research is carried out. To solve the problem of this work, four fundamental parameters are determined through the application of mathematical-statistical methods: the Poisson entropy, the estimation of the generalized dimensions , the value of the Gutenberg–Richter relationship and the Hurst exponent. The integration of the criteria offered by these parameters contributes to the interpretation of the neotectonics of the region from a seismic point of view and in turn allows the creation of more complete seismic records than the current ones. Among the main results obtained is the demonstration that the seismic series of the region complies with Hurst's hypothesis, where most natural phenomena behave as statistical trends with stochastic noise and not as random walks. This facilitates the relationship between the research results and the recent phenomena that govern neotectonics in the area.
