    Ha sido sólo en 1996-97 cuando se ha aplicado la informática en la investigación de los "représentans en mission" durante la Revolución Francesa, por expreso deseo del Instituto de Historia para la Revolución Francesa, junto a su ejecución efectiva sobre los représentants en mi tesis sobre el Departamento de Var. La creación de dos archivos (REPRESEN y MISSIONS) por parte de Michel Biard, profesor de la Universidad de París, llena el vacío previo. Mi base de datos revela el interés de la estadística en el uso de los "arrêteé" (decretos) de los "représentants" como indicativo de su actitud. Referido al Var, dio a luz al proyecto de extender la creación de una gran base documental para toda la nación y todas las misiones. La base de datos IREPRE del IHRF opera con tres archivos principales (REPRESEN, MISSIONS y ARRETE). Ambiciona ser herramienta del historiador en el estudio de esos "représentants", una herramienta estadística de primera clase y una base de datos documental permanentemente referida a las fuentes, al comprobar los decretos de todos los archivos nacionales, departamentales o municipales.

    It's only in 1996-1997 that data processing and its use in historical researches has appeared in the work on the "représentants en mission" during the French Revolution, with the will of the History Institute for the French Revolution (HIFR) to create a database on the "représentants", and the effective realization of a database in the plan of my own maîtrise thesis on the représentants en mission in the Var department. The creation of two files (one file REPRESEN and one file MISSIONS), already filled by Michel Biard from the University of Paris I, enables to fill the gap. My own database has showed the statistical interest that could be revealed by the use of the " arrêtés " (decrees) of the représentants as an indication of the mission activity. Limited to the Var, it gave birth to the project of extending the creation of a big documentary database to the whole territory and to all the missions. The IREPRE database from the HIFR, operating with three main files (REPRESEN, MISSIONS and ARRETE) has the ambition to be at the same time a new tool for the historian who wishes to draw near the history of those représentants, a first-class statistical tool, and a documentary database permanently allowing the research worker to go back to the sources, as it will check the decrees in all the national, departmental or communal record offices.
