Otra de Natalia Carrero: de las memorias individuales al desvelamiento de la ‘bebedora doméstica’

    Una temática recurrente de la ‘literatura indignada’ es “la existencia de la dialéctica de la borrachera y la resaca” (Bonvalot, 2019: 199). Estas imágenes estructuran precisamente la novela Otra de Natalia Carrero, en la que la autora teje un relato que profana los tabúes del alcoholismo femenino, de la madre falible, así como de las etiquetas médicas que excluyen y categorizan. La exposición del espacio íntimo permite así desvelar un malestar colectivamente experimentado por el tipo social de la ‘bebedora doméstica’. La novela presenta primero una estructura de ensanchamiento de la experiencia a priori personal, vinculando lo circunstancial a lo vivido colectivamente. De ahí Otra propone una economía de la transgresión en la novela, que exhibe constantemente los tabúes sociales de la sociedad capitalista patriarcal. Finalmente, el relato polimórfico permite abrir un espacio de diálogo para los seres estigmatizados.

    A recurring theme of ‘indignant literature’ is “the existence of the dialectic of drunkenness and hangover” (Bonvalot, 2019b: 199). These images structure precisely Natalia Carrero’s novel Otra, in which the author weaves a story that profanes the taboos of female alcoholism, of the fallible mother, as well as the medical labels that exclude and categorize. The exposure of the intimate space thus reveals a collectively experienced unease, experienced by the social type of the ‘domestic drinker’. The novel first presents a structure of widening the a priori personal experience, linking the circumstantial to a collective experience. Hence, Otra proposes an economy of transgression in the novel, which constantly exposes the social taboos of patriarchal capitalist society. Finally, the polymorphic narrative opens up a space of dialogue for stigmatized beings.
