Resumen de La autoevaluación institucional como elemento esencial en el desarrollo de la garantía interna de la calidad en las instituciones de Educación Superior

    Objective: This article is aimed at assessing the pedagogical foundations of the professional performance process of the human resources of the Army Military Academy (AMEX) of the Republic of Angola. Development: From the theory of advanced education that recognizes as object of study the professional and human improvement of the labor resources of all sectors, it is recognized that it is necessary theoretical space to establish the foundations of the professional performance of cadets, managers and workers of the military study centers. The professional performance of the human resources of the Army Military Academy (AMEX) of the Republic of Angola is contextualized in two components: the metacognitive and the affective-motivational, with which the modes of performance of these subjects in the different areas of work and studies of the center are grouped. Conclusions: By identifying the pedagogical foundations in general and in particular of the theory of advanced education about the professional performance of the human resources of the Army Military Academy (AMEX) of the Republic of Angola, and its structuring in the practice of the Angolan military education, we are sustaining its improvement, within which the health education of cadets, managers and workers is identified.

    INTRODUCTION: Higher education is called to contribute to the sustainable development of the regions. For this, among its challenges is the achievement of higher levels of equity, justice, sustainability and democracy, which translates into the formulation of policies and strategies that contribute not only to evaluate but also to promote quality. OBJECTIVE: Characterize institutional self-assessment as a strategy for continuous quality improvement in HEIs. METHODS: A descriptive study was carried out on the evolution and development of quality and self-assessment in HEIs in Latin America. Information obtained from various sources was collected and analyzed. CONCLUSIONS: The conceptual theoretical foundations of institutional evaluation are exposed. The features and benefits of self-assessment are presented. Self-assessment is recognized as generating a culture of permanent evaluation and transformation for the purpose of continuous improvement.
