El papel de enfermería en el tratamiento con inmunoterapia

    El cáncer es la segunda causa de muerte en países desarrollados, esta es diversa ya que puede ser hereditario o por factores externos debido a hábitos nocivos como por ejemplo el tabaco, alcohol, sedentarismo.

    Entre las terapias para la lucha contra el cáncer, está la inmunoterapia que proporciona grandes avances en el campo de la oncología, pero los pacientes en muchos casos desconocen los efectos secundarios que puede provocar dicho tratamiento, ya sea por el desconocimiento del mismo, o por la avanzada edad de dichos pacientes, y por ello entra en juego la importancia del papel de enfermería a la hora de explicar al paciente los efectos secundarios que puede derivar del tratamiento, y con ello que el paciente se sienta mas seguro a la hora de reaccionar ante dichos efectos.

    La inmunoterapia, es una de las terapias que se emplea para la lucha contra el cáncer debido a los grandes avances que se ha ido desarrollando en el campo de la oncología, pero hay un factor importante a tener cuenta, que es el desconocimiento que tienen muchos pacientes sobre los efectos secundarios que puede provocar dicho tratamiento, ya sea por incomprensión del mismo o por la edad avanzada de dichos pacientes. Por todo lo anteriormente mencionado, es importante el papel que juega enfermería para poder hacer educación para la salud sobre este tema y que se sientan más seguros a la hora de realizar dicho procedimiento.

    Immunotherapy is one of the therapies used to fight cancer due to the great advances that have been developed in the field of oncology, but there is an important factor to take into account, which is the lack of knowledge that many patients have about the side effects that this treatment can cause. either due to misunderstanding of it or due to the advanced age of these patients. For all the above reasons, the role played by nursing is important to be able to provide health education on this subject and make them feel safer when performing this procedure.
