La formación inicial hoy: Consideraciones para un replanteamiento del seminario

    La formación inicial de los seminaristas está necesariamente condicionada por el contexto sociocultural en el que se desarrolla. Y el contexto actual está mar-cado por tres cuestiones decididamente amplias y complejas, que animan el debate eclesial y están estrechamente vinculadas al problema de la eficacia de la formación inicial: el modo típicamente juvenil de vivir la religiosidad; el necesario discernimiento sobre la forma del seminario; y las transformaciones que se están producien-do en el modo de entender el ministerio sacerdotal. Observando más de cerca estas cuestiones podemos encontrar algunos criterios de discernimiento para plantear fu-turas experiencias u orientar las que están ya en marcha en los seminarios.

    The initial formation of seminarians is necessarily conditioned by the so-cio-cultural context in which it takes place. The present context is determined by three broad and complex questions which animate the ecclesial debate and which are closely linked to the problem of the effectiveness of initial formation: the typically youthful way of living religious life; the necessary discernment about the form of the seminary; and the transformations in the way priestly ministry is understood. Looking more closely at these questions, we can find some criteria for discernment in order to plan future experiences or to guide those already underway in the seminaries.
