  El emprendimiento es un factor importante para el desarrollo económico que contribuye a la reducción de la tasa de desempleo y pobreza. El objetivo de la investigación fue estimar los costos de oportunidad de los emprendedores en la ciudad de Riobamba en el año 2022. Asimismo, se usó el método deductivo, con un enfoque cualitativo y cuantitativo, y un nivel explicativo y diseño no experimental. Para la recogida de información se consideró la encuesta y como instrumento el cuestionario; se aplicó a una muestra de 162 emprendedores de un total de 277. La información tiene un índice de Cronbach de 70,4%. Los resultados muestran que el costo de oportunidad en promedio alcanza $453,62 e influye en la toma de decisiones, se concluye que los costos de oportunidad inciden en los emprendimientos

  Entrepreneurship is an important factor for economic development that contributes to the reduction of the unemployment and poverty rate. The objective of the research was to estimate the opportunity costs of entrepreneurs in the city of Riobamba in the year 2022. Likewise, the deductive method was used, with a qualitative and quantitative approach, and an explanatory level and non-experimental design. To collect information, the survey was considered and the questionnaire was used as an instrument; It was applied to a sample of 162 entrepreneurs out of a total of 277. The information has a Cronbach index of 70.4%. The results show that the opportunity cost on average reaches $453.62 and influences decision making; it is concluded that opportunity costs affect entrepreneurship
