  Consumir durante el embarazo tabaco es un hábito que está totalmente desaconsejado. Tanto el tabaquismo activo como la exposición pasiva al tabaco están asociados a complicaciones durante la gestación tanto para la madre como para el feto. La exposición al tabaco durante la gestación tiene importantes repercusiones en la salud materna, aumentando el riesgo de complicaciones durante el primer trimestre. Es muy importante que los profesionales tengan presente estos riesgos para poder ayudar a estas pacientes a mejorar sus hábitos de salud abandonando esta práctica.

  Consuming tobacco during pregnancy is a habit that is totally discouraged. Both active smoking and passive exposure to tobacco are associated with complications during pregnancy for both the mother and the fetus. Exposure to tobacco during pregnancy has important repercussions on maternal health, increasing the risk of complications during the first trimester.
