El objetivo principal de la presente investigación fue conocer la relación existente entre los niveles de satisfacción con la vida y la autoestima en adolescentes, para lo cual se utilizó una metodología de diseño no experimental de alcance descriptivo, correlacional y de corte transversal. Se contó con la participación de 144 adolescentes entre las edades de 14 a 17 años, estudiantes de primero a tercero de bachillerato de una Unidad Educativa Fiscomisional de la provincia de Cotopaxi, a través de un muestreo no probabilístico por conveniencia. El estudio se realizó con la aplicación de las escalas de Autoestima de Rosenberg y la Escala de Satisfacción con la Vida (SWLS). Entre los resultados se encuentra que en la muestra prevalece los niveles de satisfacción con la vida insatisfechos y de autoestima baja con mayor frecuencia. Se encontró una relación significativa entre las variables, es decir a mayor satisfacción con la vida mayor es la autoestima. Además, los adolescentes presentaron niveles bajos de satisfacción con la vida y niveles bajos de autoestima.
The main objective of this research was to know the relationship between levels of satisfaction with life and self-esteem in adolescents, for which a non-experimental design methodology of descriptive, correlational and cross-sectional scope was used. The participation of 144 adolescents between the ages of 14 to 17 years, students from first to third year of high school from a Fiscomisional Educational Unit of the province of Cotopaxi, through a non-probabilistic convenience sampling. The study was carried out with the application of the Rosenberg Self-Esteem scales and the Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS). Among the results, it is found that unsatisfied levels of satisfaction with life and low self-esteem prevail more frequently in the sample. A significant relationship was found between the variables, that is, the greater the satisfaction with life, the greater the self-esteem. In addition, the adolescents had low levels of satisfaction with life and low levels of self-esteem.
