Resumen de Cruzada Nacional de Alfabetización en Nicaragua, fuente inagotable en la toma de conciencia histórica y transformaciones revolucionarias

El ensayo está dirigido a perpetuar y fortalecer la memoria histórica de una de las gestas más importantes desarrolladas por el pueblo nicaragüense tras el triunfo de la Revolución Popular Sandinista sobre la dictadura militar somocista. A través del texto, se presenta el significado de la Cruzada como un elemento sustancial que contribuyó, además de reducir significativamente las cifras de analfabetismo, al fortalecimiento de la conciencia histórica y la identidad nacional. Se explica cómo la movilización popular y los niveles de organización en torno a la dirección revolucionaria resultaron claves para llevar a buen término esta importante y ejemplar campaña patriótica. Un aspecto importante para el desarrollo de la memoria colectiva, y que se aborda en el presente ensayo, lo constituyó la experiencia de la Brigada de Rescate Histórico “Germán Pomares Ordóñez” a quien se le asignó, como parte del compromiso social de los alfabetizadores del Ejército Popular de Alfabetizadores, el rescate de la insurrección popular sandinista. El autor del ensayo hace un recorrido de los elementos sustanciales de la Cruzada Nacional de Alfabetización basado en documentos primarios, referencias bibliográficas y documentales recopiladas en el contexto de la Cruzada y en la década de los ochenta del siglo XX en Nicaragua; asimismo, establece algunos elementos sobre cómo el espíritu de tan noble causa sigue latente en las nuevas generaciones de nicaragüenses.

This paper is aimed at perpetuating and strengthening the historical memory of one of the most important feats developed by the Nicaraguan people after the triumph of the Sandinista Popular Revolution over the Somoza military dictatorship. Throughout the text, the meaning of the National Literacy Crusade is presented as a substantial element that contributed, in addition to significantly decreasing illiteracy figures, to the strengthening of historical consciousness and national identity. It explains how popular mobilization and levels of organization around the revolutionary leadership were key to the success of this important and exemplary patriotic campaign. An important aspect of the development of collective memory, which is addressed in this essay, was the experience of the Historical Rescue Brigade “Germán Pomares Ordóñez” to which it was assigned, as part of the social commitment of the literacy teachers of the EPA (Popular Army of Literacy Teachers, for its Acronyms in Spanish), the rescue of the popular Sandinista insurrection. The author of this essay makes an overview of the substantial elements of the National Literacy Crusade based on primary documents and bibliographic and documentary references compiled in the context of the Crusade and the eighties of the 20th century in Nicaragua; likewise, he establishes some elements about how the spirit of such a noble cause remains latent in the new generations of Nicaraguans.
