    El tema de este artículo es el funcionamiento de la censura en las postrimerías del régimen de gobierno en el virreinato del Perú. Como se verá, en el virreinato peruano, la censura actuó mediante agentes y en diversos contextos sociales y culturales, y princi-palmente de manera reactiva, esto es, ante determinadas situaciones que consideraba que debía conjurar; y solo en menor proporción fue preventiva. Para sustentar mi hipótesis trataré, en primer lugar, de la censura practicada por la Inquisición en colaboración con el Tribunal; y, en segundo lugar, de la llevada a cabo por iniciativa de las autoridades políticas.

    The subject of this essay is the functioning of censorship in the aftermath of the gubernamental egime in the Peruvian viceroyalty. As we will be, in the Peruvian viceroyalty, censorship acted through agents and various social and cultural contexts, mainly in a reactive manner, that is, in the face of certain situations that it considered it had to avert; and only to a lesser extent was it preventive. To support my hypothesis I will deal, first, with the censorship practiced by the Inquisition in collaboration with the Court; and, secondly, that carried out at the initiative of the political authorities.
