  • The aim of the ruralities project is to support the mostdisadvantaged sections of rural communities in the managementand enhancement of ecosystems, in order to ensure sustainabledevelopment that respects the environment. In this context,a team of students and teacher-researchers made a scientificexcursion to the Brakna region. The focus was on women'scooperatives working in agriculture and processing. The problemsraised revolved around plant production and protection, watermanagement and semi-sedentary livestock farming. Severalsolutions and recommendations were put forward by the team,based on capacity building, improved biological pest control andoptimized water management through drip or micro-sprinkling.Some of these solutions have been identified as Master's researchthemes.
