  Las relaciones entre turismo y medio ambiente son variadas. El turismo de bajo impacto puede contribuir eficazmente a mejorar las relaciones entre uno y otro, logrando que el desarrollo turístico y la protección del medio ambiente sean actividades complementarias. Algunos de los principales conflictos ambientales del turismo tienen que ver con el agua (la industria turística es una gran consumidora de agua), los residuos (descontrolados, afectan gravemente), el ruido y la degradación paisajística (el turismo es un gran consumidor de paisaje). El presente trabajo tiene como objetivo general analizar el trabajo de la educación ambiental en los impactos que ocasiona el turismo en la bahía de Cienfuegos. Para el desarrollo de la investigación se ha utilizado el enfoque cualitativo, apoyándose en técnicas como el análisis de documentos y la entrevista en profundidad. Entre los resultados se aprecia un aumento de turbidez en las aguas de la bahía y, cierta apatía y desinterés por el cuidado ambiente por parte de los ciudadanos. El turismo ambiental no está sólo para que se puedan cumplir las funciones de amortiguador ecológico y reproductor natural, sino también, para ofrecer nuevas perspectivas duraderas de desarrollo responsable y sostenible en el tiempo, para el disfrute de todos.

  The relationships between tourism and the environment are varied. Low-impact tourism can effectively contribute to improving relations between one and the other, making tourism development and environmental protection complementary activities. Some of the main environmental conflicts in tourism have to do with water (the tourism industry is a large consumer of water), waste (uncontrolled, seriously affects), noise and landscape degradation (tourism is a large consumer of landscape). The general objective of this work is to analyze the work of environmental education in the impacts caused by tourism in the bay of Cienfuegos. For the development of the research, the qualitative approach has been used, relying on techniques such as document analysis and in-depth interviews. Among the results, an increase in turbidity in the waters of the bay and a certain apathy and disinterest in caring for the environment on the part of the citizens can be seen. Environmental tourism is not only there so that the functions of ecological buffer and natural reproductive can be fulfilled, but also to offer new lasting perspectives of responsible and sustainable development over time, for the enjoyment of all.
