    Resumen  La educación a distancia es una opción flexible que gracias a las nuevas tecnologías de la información que han sido desarrolladas, ofrece la posibilidad de estudiar sin necesidad de asistir presencialmente al aula. Los nuevos avances en las tecnologías de la información han permitido un gran desarrollo en la educación a distancia pues ahora se incorporan diversos recursos y estrategias didácticas que permiten al estudiante obtener mejores conocimientos al tener la oportunidad de interactuar casi de forma directa con el profesor y con sus demás compañeros, a través de foros, sesiones de videoconferencias y plataformas de aprendizaje.

     Este tipo de educación ofrece a los estudiantes la ventaja de poder utilizar su tiempo para realizar sus actividades normales, aunque, esto implica una gran disciplina compromiso, disposición y autoaprendizaje para realizar las actividades en tiempo y forma, así como la responsabilidad de buscar los materiales que puedan ser necesarios para cada asignatura.

    Normalmente, la educación a distancia es vista como una alternativa para aquellos que no pudieron atender necesidades formativas en una edad escolar determinada y que ahora tienen la necesidad de cursar estudios de nivel superior sin tener el tiempo para recurrir a un sistema convencional de educación. Al mismo tiempo de realizar sus actividades laborales, los profesionistas tienen la libertad de administrar su tiempo de manera que puedan aprender las asignaturas necesarias para cada carrera y así obtener un título universitario que indudablemente representa un gran logro y la posibilidad mejorar las oportunidades de obtener un mejor empleo.

    Distance education is a flexible option that, thanks to the new information technologies that have been developed, offers the possibility of studying without the need to attend the classroom in person. New advances in information technologies have allowed a great development in distance education because now various resources and teaching strategies are incorporated that allow the student to obtain better knowledge by having the opportunity to interact almost directly with the teacher and with their other colleagues, through forums, videoconferencing sessions and learning platforms. This type of education offers students the advantage of being able to use their time to carry out their normal activities, although this implies a great discipline, commitment, willingness and self-learning to carry out the activities in a timely manner, as well as the responsibility of looking for materials that may be necessary for each subject. Normally, distance education is seen as an alternative for those who could not meet training needs at a certain school age and who now have the need to pursue higher-level studies without having the time to resort to a conventional education system. At the same time as carrying out their work activities, professionals have the freedom to manage their time so that they can learn the necessary subjects for each career and thus obtain a university degree that undoubtedly represents a great achievement and the possibility of improving the opportunities of obtaining a degree.
