  Este artículo examina cómo frente a la inmigración se han abordado y se gestionan las fronteras. Para comprender la lógica que subsiste detrás de la política fronteriza se analiza si los lindes se fortalecen, se mantienen o se flexibilizan. Se observa que por regla general las naciones responden robusteciendo sus muros para evitar el ingreso de individuos que consideran “indeseados”. Precisamente se estudiará la manera en que el Estado chileno administra su denominada frontera norte, pues es en este lugar donde se advierte que los abusos se repiten con mayor frecuencia

  This paper examines how borders have been addressed and managed in the face of immigration. To understand the logic that subsists behind the border policy, it is analyzed if boundaries are strengthened, maintained or relaxed. It is observed that as a general rule, nations respond by strengthening their walls to prevent the entry of individuals they consider "unwanted." Precisely the way in which the Chilean State administers its so-called northern border will be studied, since it is in this place where it is noticed that abuses are repeated more frequently
