Estudio descriptivo cuyo propósito fue conocer la adherencia al control de los pacientes hipertensos del programa Hipertensión Arterial y factores que la están influenciando. La adherencia al control se midió por la relación existente entre el número de citaciones a control y el número de asistencia a éste, expresado en porcentaje; y las variables asociadas a la adherencia con instrumento de autora. En el análisis estadístico se utilizó la prueba X2. Los resultados señalaron que un número considerable de pacientes (62,50%) presentaron alta adherencia al control. Los resultados obtenidos relacionaron significativamente la adherencia con: modalidad de educación en salud, educación recibida por el paciente de miembros del equipo de Salud, y la adaptación del paciente al estrés de la enfermedad crónica. La hipótesis número 1 fue aprobada, resultando estadísticamente significativa la relación entre adherencia al control y conocimiento del paciente de donde y a quien recurrir por ayuda necesaria.

A descriptivo study whose aim was to know the adherence to control of hypertension patients of the Arterial HypertensionProgram and the influencing factors. The adherence to control was measured by the existent relationship between the number of citations to control and the attending number to it, expressed in percentage; and the variables associated to adherence with the authorís instrument. In the statistical analysis, X2 test was used. The results reported a considerable number of patients (62.50%) who presented a high adherence to control. The results obtained related significantly adherence with education health modality, education received by the patient from the Health staff, and patient's adaptation to stress when facing a chronic disease. Hypothesis number 1 was approved, resulting statistically significant the relationship between the adherence to control and patientís knowledge regarding where and to whom he may be directed for a necessary help.
