La educación actual no está respondiendo a las necesidades que le dieron origen, está en crisis. Prevalecen en la enseñanza modos tradicionales de transmisión de conocimiento: la memorización y la verbalización. Esto deja pendiente ejercitar el pensamiento y más aún, echar a andar la inteligencia de los estudiantes de todos los niveles, lo cual demerita su capacidad de hacer frente a los desafíos del aquí y ahora, y del futuro en el contexto turbulento del siglo XXI. Today education is not responding to its original objectives, it is in crises. Traditional memorizing and verbalization, are still mostly common practice in classrooms –chalk and talk. The use of thinking, is a pending ability that needs to be put deeply in action in each modern student. But the use of intelligence is an important ability still in minor use by students during class hours. If we continue teaching in such a way students will be less capable to face the present times, they won’t be up to date, but neither will be able to face future challenges within turbulent context of the XXI century. These are the ideas discussed in this article.
