Resumen de Infección de ratas salvajes con Angiostrongylus costaricensis por vía subcutánea e intraperitoneal

  Tres grupos de ratas (Sigmodon hispidus) fueron infectadas cada una con 50 larvas de tercer estadio de Angiostrongylus costaricensis. Cada grupo fue inoculado por vía oral, intraperitoneal y subcutánea respectivamente. El mayor porcentaje de infección (51,1 %) se obtuvo con la inoculación por vía intraperitoneal, siguiéndole la vía oral (47,2%). La eficacia de la infección fue muy pobre (10.5%) cuando se usó la vía subcutánea.

  Three groups of cotton rats (Sigmodon hispidus) were infected with Angiostrongylus costaricensis; the rust was inoculated by stomach tube; the second intraperitoneally and the third subcutaneously. In all the groups each rat received 50 L3. The highest rates of infection (51.1% were obtained by the intraperitoneal route, followed by oral inoculation (47.1 %). Poor results were observed (10.5%) subcutaneously.
