Resumen de Cianobacterias potencialmente tóxicas en plantas de tratamiento de agua en Costa Rica

    A total of 336 samples were collected from seven Costa Rican water treatment plants during a ten month period. Fifty cyanobacteria species were isolated, 24 potential toxin producers. Microcystis flos acuae, Phormidium retzii (Lyngbya retzii) and Oscülmoria subtilissima .ocurred in 29.76% of the samples. Water treatment plants must be adapted to remave diese toxins (oo1y two had anthracite filtration).
