    El objetivo del presente artículo es reinterpretar el dispositivo soberano presente en la filosofía política de Thomas Hobbes, tomando como punto de partida su Leviathan, or The Matter, Forme and Power of a Common-Wealth Ecclesiasticall and Civil a través de algunas de las categorías analíticas desarrolladas por Sigmund Freud. Este trabajo busca realizar una crítica a los límites sociales y psíquicos que propone Hobbes. Se argumenta que la visión hobbesiana del estado de naturaleza y del contrato social demuestra falencias a la hora de crear un lazo social duradero al construirse en base al concepto de miedo. Realizaremos un repaso de las principales conexiones que se han realizado entre Sigmund Freud y Thomas Hobbes. En un segundo momento, nos abocaremos a un estudio del estado de naturaleza, el pacto social  y la construcción del soberano representante como son presentados en el Leviathan.

    The aim of this article is to reinterpret the sovereign device present in Thomas Hobbes' political philosophy, taking as a starting point his Leviathan, or The Matter, Forme and Power of a Common-Wealth Ecclesiasticall and Civil through some of the analytical categories developed by Sigmund Freud. This work seeks to carry out a critique of the social and psychic limits proposed by Hobbes. It is argued that the Hobbesian vision of the state of nature and the social contract shows flaws when it comes to creating a lasting social bond by being built on the concept of fear.

    We will first review the main connections that have been made between Sigmund Freud and Thomas Hobbes. In a second moment, we will focus on a study of the state of nature, the social pact and the construction of the sovereign representative as presented in the Leviathan.
