Design of a Simple Isoteniscope for Use in a Student Laboratory for Measurements of Vapor Pressure of Liquids

• Resumen

  • The design of an isoteniscope for measurements of vapor pressure of liquids is proposed. The device is easy to make and convenient to use. A student laboratory task is presented, which includes registration of the temperature dependence of saturated vapor pressure and determination of thermodynamic characteristics of the liquid–gas phase transition. In a simple and visual experiment, students can get accurate results, which are in good agreement with reliable reference data.
