La presente investigación tuvo como como propósito analizar si la seguridad industrial es un gasto o una inversión en la empresa privada, para de esa manera identificar las posibles complicaciones legales, financieras, económicas y sociales a las que se vería enfrentada en caso de no poseer seguridad industrial para su personal. La perspectiva predominante fue el tipo social y la metodología utilizada fue la descriptiva. Adicionalmente también se observa el perfil que debe tener el Jefe de Seguridad Industrial en las empresas y la importancia del nivel directivo para la toma de decisiones.
