    La Semana Santa de Cádiz, cuenta con un patrimonio de incalculable valor. Las efemérides se suceden suscribiendo su antigüedad. En este sentido, este año se han cumplido cuatrocientos años de la inmejorable escultura del cristo yaciente del Santo Entierro de Cádiz. Un regalo hecho a la ciudad por el imaginero Francisco de Villegas que atesora la hermandad de Santa Cruz. Sirvan estas líneas para reconocer el valor artístico y sentimental de esta imagen sagrada que ocupa un espacio imprescindible en el conjunto de la Semana Santa gaditana. Datado en el siglo XVII y de estilo barroco, su esplendor continúa, así como su veneración. Un cristo que embellece en la Sagrada Urna de la autoría del platero Manuel Ramírez y Serrano.

    Easter Week in Cadiz has a heritage of incalculable value. The anniversaries are one after the other, underlining its antiquity. In this sense, this year marks the four hundredth anniversary of the unbeatable sculpture of the lying Christ of the Holy Burial of Cadiz. A gift made to the city by the sculptor Francisco de Villegas and treasured by the Santa Cruz brotherhood. These lines serve to recognise the artistic and sentimental value of this sacred image which occupies an essential place in the whole of Cadiz's Holy Week.
