Resumen de A skeptical Bode’s law lab

James Lincoln

  • Submitted for your doubt and scrutiny is the so-called “Bode’s law” of planetary orbits. Also called the Titius–Bode law, this empirical formula represents a quicker alternative to the laws of Newton and Kepler while making fair predictions of the distances from the planets to the Sun. In this paper, I discuss an updated project that can be performed in a physics, astronomy, or astrophysics class in which introductory-level students are challenged to investigate this so-called law for predicting planetary orbits and compare it with the ultimately superior laws of Kepler and Newton.
