  • Resumen
    • BIBSYS is a cooperation between 90 academic and research libraries in Norway. In 2001 BIBSYS made a report for the Norwegian university libraries concerning the possibility of a radical move from paper based to electronic information resources. In broader terms the question was: what should a digital research library (based on web-access to library services and information resources) contain? And, which services and information resources should be implemented in such a system? BIBSYS has now started to follow up the plans suggested in this report. The presentation will show some of the services already offered by BIBSYS and the plans for future development. In some cases different solutions are available, and they will be discussed. Emphasis will be on a broad description of the situation, not on technical detail. Most services from BIBSYS are freely available on the web: http://www.bibsys.no/english.html (English interface) http://www.bibsys.no/ (Norwegian interface)
